BORDERLANDS

This documentary takes a powerful and intimate look at the people who are living at little known, mysterious borderlines between two countries, how they struggle to survive and thrive in very unique circumstances.

From the town of Golden Boten to the conflicted maritime region of the Philippines and Malaysia, all the way to Kinmen and the complex Bangladeshi-Indian border, the series shows how individuals are marginalised, fleeing events in their own countries, and how they go in search of income and stability that comes from being on the other side of the border.

It's a unique way of life that combines cultures and practices from across two countries. It echoes a shared sense of belonging, friendship and many times, rivalry, and most importantly, the conflicting sentiment of dual identities.
