History tells us that on Christmas Eve, 1818, in the small, picturesque Alpine village of Mariapfarr, Austria, the immortal Christmas carol, Silent Night, which was written by Josef Mohr and Franz Gruber, was sung for the very first time. But there's much more to the story than that. In this enchanting and magical tale actress Lynn Redgrave reveals a curious story, "handed down by word-of-mouse," about a small boy, Felix, whose wish to create a very special tune for Christmas Day is granted with the assistance of his friend, Nonny, a mouse. Shot on location, the program includes beautiful music, period costumes, and also features Gregor Fisher, John Cairney, Bill McCue, Jack McKenzie, Phil McCall and Richard Blane.
