Hair loss, nausea, bone marrow depletion, kidney damage-the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment for cancer are severe. This program examines some of the benefits of new medical research and techniques designed to alleviate some of these side effects: chemotherapy administered through ports that lead into the veins via implanted catheters; lots of fluids given with Cisplatin to prevent kidney failure; and computer technology that decreases the side effects of radiation.
