Sex Differences in Metabolism: Potential Biochemical and Molecular Mechanisms is a thought-provoking Tutorial Lecture from the 2008 ACSM annual meeting on how gender-based differences affect human metabolism. Initially, the DVD reviews the impact of sex differences on whole-body metabolism. The DVD then breaks metabolism down into lipid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and protein metabolism. The DVD also looks at the influence of the X chromosome on metabolism, as well as the impact of 17b-estradiol on the regulation of metabolism.
