A historical look at the changes in attitudes toward children and adolescents since antiquity is presented. The various theoretical perspectives in the development of this branch of psychology are overviewed. The theories of Erickson, Hull, Piaget. Skinner, Havinghurst and Lewin are covered. The program concludes with a discussion of the various methods used in the research of developmental psychology.
